Hi Reader, Being an indie podcaster isn’t easy. You wear every hat - host, editor, promoter, marketer. You balance podcasting with work, family, and life. And sometimes, it feels like you’re staring up at giants - big networks with bigger budgets, bigger teams, and bigger reach. But here’s what you might not realize: You already have what they don’t. You have your voice. The way you tell stories, the way you share experiences, the way you connect with your audience. No one can replicate that. You have your perspective. You don’t need to appeal to millions - you speak directly to the people who need to hear what you have to say. That intimacy is your strength. You have your connection. When a listener emails you or messages you on social, you reply. When they support you, you know their name. That kind of community doesn’t come from a marketing department - it comes from you showing up, consistently and authentically. And that’s why your podcast matters. Because while bigger shows might outspend you, they can’t out-you. They can’t replace the unique mix of passion, grit, and perspective that only you bring. So when you look at your niche and see the “big players,” remember: you belong right next to them. Not because you’re trying to be them, but because you’re already doing something they can’t.
Podcasting thrives because of creators like you. Every episode you put out is proof that indie podcasting isn’t “less than” - it’s the heartbeat of the industry. So keep going. Keep recording. Keep being you. Because the truth is, indie podcasting doesn’t just survive because of creators like you - it thrives. Until the next time, happy podcasting.

Hi Reader, I nearly didn’t publish an episode this week. Everything was done. Recorded, edited, ready to go. But right at the end, that familiar thought crept in: “Do I actually know enough about this to be talking about it?” It’s a strange part of podcasting. You can do all the work, and still hesitate at the last step. And I think a lot of us deal with that, whether we call it imposter syndrome or not. For me, it usually shows up when I’m covering something that feels a bit more “advice-y”....
Apple recently added support for video podcasts using HLS. Which naturally leads to the question: Should you be using it? The honest answer is - it depends. Because while video can be a great addition to a podcast, it’s not automatically the right move for every show. Should You Use Apple’s New V... Hi Reader, So, a little back story (if you weren't following the podcast previously). I stopped One Minute Podcast Tips almost a year ago. Not because I ran out of ideas. Not because it wasn’t working. But because I needed a break. And honestly? That was the right call. Stepping away gave me some space to think about what I actually enjoy about podcasting, and what I don’t (and I highly recommend you taking stock like this yourself now and again for your own podcast). And one thing kept...
