On bringing back One Minute Podcast Tips

Hi Reader,

So, a little back story (if you weren't following the podcast previously). I stopped One Minute Podcast Tips almost a year ago.

Not because I ran out of ideas. Not because it wasn’t working.

But because I needed a break.

And honestly? That was the right call.

Stepping away gave me some space to think about what I actually enjoy about podcasting, and what I don’t (and I highly recommend you taking stock like this yourself now and again for your own podcast).

And one thing kept coming back to me.

I missed this show.

Not just creating it, but helping podcasters figure things out quickly, without the fluff, without the overwhelm, and without feeling like they’re doing everything wrong.

Because if you’ve ever felt like that, you’re not alone.

There’s a lot of advice out there. A lot of “best practices”. A lot of noise.

And not all of it is helpful.

So I’m bringing One Minute Podcast Tips back.

Same idea - short, practical tips you can use right away.

But this time, it’s a little sharper.

I’ll be sharing what’s actually working, what isn’t, and some of the advice that probably doesn’t hold up anymore.

  • No overcomplicating things.
  • No chasing every new tactic.
  • Just clear, useful insights to help you make a better podcast.

New episodes drop every Friday.

If that sounds like something you need right now, you can listen/follow here:

If you’ve been listening before - thanks for sticking around. If you’re new - welcome.

Either way, I’m glad you’re here.

Until the next time, happy podcasting.

The Be a Better Podcaster newsletter will forever be free, but if you enjoy the tips and get value from them you can support me with an amount of your choosing. Thanks so much!

Hi Reader, Somewhere along the way, podcasting stopped being a thing people did because they enjoyed it. Or at least, that’s what the internet would have you believe sometimes. Now everything has to be: scalable monetized optimized repurposed into 14 clips and a LinkedIn carousel turned into a “personal brand” And look, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with wanting more from your podcast. Maybe you do want sponsorships. Maybe you want to grow an audience. Maybe you want your show to become...

Hi Reader, I nearly didn’t publish an episode this week. Everything was done. Recorded, edited, ready to go. But right at the end, that familiar thought crept in: “Do I actually know enough about this to be talking about it?” It’s a strange part of podcasting. You can do all the work, and still hesitate at the last step. And I think a lot of us deal with that, whether we call it imposter syndrome or not. For me, it usually shows up when I’m covering something that feels a bit more “advice-y”....

Apple recently added support for video podcasts using HLS. Which naturally leads to the question: Should you be using it? The honest answer is - it depends.
